the capital of Poland, reminds that Easter is the center of Christian life. Saturday is the penultimate day of Holy Week preceding the Resurrection.
The Metropolitan of Warsaw, Cardinal Kazimierz Nycz, emphasized that the Feast of Resurrection gives meaning to the whole life of the Christian and the entire liturgical calendar. We receive during him an explanation of the purpose of Jesus’ birth, who saves us through his passion, death and resurrection.
– All other holidays are somewhat secondary to the three days we experience – he added.
Cardinal Kazimierz Nycz pointed out that without the Resurrection of Christ, the mission of the Church and the efforts of each one of us are empty.
– This is the foundation on which our lives are being built – he stressed.
The Metropolitan of Warsaw greeted the listeners of the Polish Radio, saying: „let’s be happy and let us be glad, Alleluia, because the reason is great.”
Holy Saturday is for Christians a time of calm and waiting for Christ’s Resurrection. On this day no holy mass is celebrated. The faithful go to church to sanctify food, some traditionally visit the Lord’s Graves. After sunset the liturgy of the Easter Vigil begins.
